Serta Damask Stripe Electric Heated Mattress Pad - Start saving on your energy bill when you lower your thermostat and stay comfy with the all over penetrating warmth of this low-voltage mattress pad. We've designed an electric mattress pad that not only warms your bed, but also rejuvenates it. The 233-thread count 80-percent poly/20-percent cotton dobby stripe decorative shell is incredibly soft and soothing but that's just one of the wonderful features of this pad. Constructed within the pad is the patented Safe and Warm low-voltage technology. This low-voltage mattress pad includes a small power supply box that changes 120-volt AC home current into non-hazardous low-voltage DC current (very similar to a battery) to provide warmth, protection and safety even if the pad becomes wet. Unlike other warming pads with their thick bulky wires, the wires in the Serta pads are so small and thin; they are virtually unnoticeable. During construction we place the thin wires 3-inch apart and evenly distribute them from head to toe. The benefit to you is a pad that gives more of an even heat and has no annoying hot or cold spots. The twin size pad comes standard with one easy to read, easy to turn, non-slip computerized controller to adjust the temperature of the pad. A giant backlit display with auto dimming feature provides more convenience for night time adjustments with out having to turn on the lights. For cozy sheets before bed time, it has an automatic pre-heat and hold feature. You simply turn it on and the pad will warm up on HI until it reaches the temperature that you pre set your dial on and then adjusts itself to hold it there. For your safety, convenience and power conservation it has an automatic shut off feature that will shut the pad off after 10-hour just in case you forget. It also comes standard with built in over-temperature protection for that extra bit of safety and peace of mind.

I recently purchased this to replace my Sunbeam heated mattress pad that died and I love it. With the Sunbeam I had to turn up to high in order to even be able to feel the warmth. So far, I have not turned this up past 4. Great product!UPDATE: we have used this for just over a year and last night I noticed my side of the bed was extra warm. I immediately turned it off and when I got up this morning I looked a bit closer. The cord connecting the controller is MELTED!!!!! I am so glad I felt it getting warm and it did not start a fire!

Years ago I had a bed pad that heated up rapidly and was HOT! Unfortunately, it finally gave out so I replaced it with a new one that was SUPPOSED to do the same. The industry apparently had problems with bed pads overheating and so revised (read: lowered)the standards and so it was impossible to find a good one...including the one I had bought. Now comes the Serta and it is not powered by Ac but rather powered by DC. This makes it VERY safe and, much to my surprise, it not only heats up rapidly, but is wonderfully HOT which is great for the NH winters. I don't know how they do it with DC power but I don't care. A plus is it actually uses much less electricity than the previous AC models. Great all around and I gladly give this one five stars.

I did my homework before purchasing this mattress pad. I read every single review for every single pad out there (and not just on this website).Pros:--consistent heat throughout pad--cannot feel the wires (and I've tried!)--multiple heat settings (low, 1-9 and high--really, who needs that many choices?)--no buzzing sound from power source (in fact, you just plug it into your outlet)--good priceCons:--takes a long time to heat up (when I turn it on high, it takes about 20 minutes to come to full heat)--this pad is HOT...I usually turn it on high to "preheat" the bed, then turn it off before I fall asleep. Otherwise I wake up covered in sweat. Even on low it's hard to keep it on all night. Then again, I don't live in the artic north.Overall this is a great pad and I'm very happy with my purchase. I'd recommend this to anyone!
