As other reviewers have said the bed is as pictured and is beautiful. The bed is very solid. But the title of "Platform" is miss leading. As another reviewer has stated you need to use a box spring or purchase wood panels (or something) to make a platform across the metal slats (which are ~1 inch thick and ~11 inches apart). I don't know about you but a ~1 foot gap is hardly what I consider a platform!As the title of my comment implies this bed required me to purchase a Tap (a device for threading the female screw holes) in order for me to be able to screw in the included larger 5/16in bolts. Exactly half of the screw holes on the headboard and the footboard needed to be re-threaded. This is not to say the screw holes were missing or that they were not threaded, but simply that the threading was not adequate for screwing of the bolts to take place.

The bed arrived in excellent condition and was assembled in about an hour. It is beautiful and very sturdy. I had a very high bed before and wanted something that did not need a box spring. The quality is better than I imagined it would be. The color of the finish is true to the picture. I do love this bed!

I bought this bed with a little hesitation, thinking it might be too good to be true. It really is beautiful and very good quality. It arrived with one support leg missing, but when I notified the company they had a replacement sent immediately (and Amazon even contacted me to follow up and make sure I received it!) I was impressed with how quickly they responded. The bed is beautiful and looks expensive. I am a student and was looking for a deal, but I am picky about quality, I'd rather have nothing than buy cheap badly made items. This bed really gave me a more expensive look for a low price. Right now this bed is the only furniture I have, but it makes me so happy to walk into my bedroom that I don't really mind not having living room furniture! It is extremely sturdy (takes time to assemble and to tighten all the screws but if you take the time, it will be solid). If I jump around on it it doesn't shake or squeak. The support legs underneath prevent sagging. I have a memory foam mattress, so I put wood panels down on top of the rails to make it into a platform bed (it has metal slats which works fine for a box spring).I was so pleased with this bed I will definitely buy from the furniture maker and the dealer again!
