Filled with 400GSM (12-ounce/yard) of 100-percent hand picked, specially enhanced Australian Micraloft wool creates amazing loft and increased insulation properties. The top side of this pad is an incredible 500GSM (15-ounce/yard) of 100-percent high quality Australian Excel wool. The wool top is designed to regulate your body temperature to keep you warmer in the winter months due to the super-fine wool fibers that naturally insulate, breathe and wick moisture (sweat) away from the skin, keeping you drier and more comfortable. In the warmer months simply turn the pad over to the cotton side for a pad that rejuvenates your mattress for a better nights rest. I bought a latex foam mattress this summer (from Plushbeds.com) and noticed that it slept a great deal hotter than my conventional innerspring mattress. Everything else about the bed seemed right, so I sought a mattress topper that would solve the problem.This Herington mattress pad worked perfectly. The pad arrived quickly and was easy to install on the bed. I like that it is reversible and washable. There were no unusual smells.The construction has been of high quality and I have not seen any deterioration or poor sewing.The mattress is now cool and comfortable, and has a slightly more soft feel to it, thanks to this pad.

This all wool and cotton mattress cover is a high quality, well made product that I can recommend. And most importantly, it has no odor as did the snuggle fleece product which I decided to return. This cover is plush and substantial. I placed it on top of my firm, pillow top mattress. It's wonderfully comfortable. It makes you feel that every inch of your body is supported. As this is late Fall, I did notice that I felt a bit warmer with the fleece but only a bit so. I love this product. It fits well on a fifteen inch mattress and could even accomodate a larger mattress. I'm not easy to please, but I feel fully satisfied with this product. Perhaps you will be too.

This topper appears to be of very good quality, but... I am in the third washing trying to get rid of the smell. I tried putting it on the bed without washing and the whole house reeked like, I do not know, sort of bad wool. After the third washing with a neutral PH soap and some lavender oil, I think it will be okay although the king sized topper is a really big for the washing machine.Also I am brushing it with a stiff dog type brush to get the nap up, which makes it softer and less pilly.
