By Cheryl M. Toles
Very pleased with my bed. I believe I have gotten my money's worth and happy with purchase. The bed has old fashioned metal framing support and had very handsome upolstery. It sits very high and has a royal feeling to it. The color is exactly as depicted in photo. I have two small complaints. The description indicated it would take 3 weeks to ship and it did. I feel that was too long but once shipped I got it within in days and that was great. Second the bolts in the headboard packaging were loosely thrown in the wrapping and a washer was missing forcing me to substitue to assemble. Overall it was a good purchase and assembly instructions were reader friendly.

Exactly as described and no gaps between headboard and mattress. It took me about 1- 2 hours to set up all by myself and instructions were easy to follow.... I love this bed!!

I was a bit nervous about buying this bed. I have never purchased furniture online before, but considering all similar beds go for $1000+ in stores, I was willing to risk it. Besides, most of the reviews (on Wayfair, Amazon, and Skyline) have been positive minus a few hiccups. The bed shipped within a week, a lot sooner than I had expected. Both parts arrived at the same time. The instructions were easy to follow. Not sure what people are talking about when they say they're worse than IKEA instructions. I would definitely recommend having 2 people to set it up though. It took us about 1.5-2 hours to set it up. I'd also suggest loosely screwing in the screws/washers/bolts and tightening them later, so that all the side rails match up. This was kind of annoying, as it took several adjustments to get it right. The bed has metal framing/support, so it's very sturdy. All the pieces necessary to build the bed were included. With any type of furniture, there is always the risk that a screw/washer/bolt goes missing, so I guess I got lucky.I've read that there is a gap between the bottom of the headboard and the top of the mattress. I bought my mattress in 2007, so it's deeper than some older mattresses. Hence, no gapping for me. My boxspring and mattress together measure about 21".This bed sits lower than my previous bed. I can literally lay on my bed, hang my leg over the side, and touch the floor, and I'm 5'2", so I don't understand the previous reviewer's comment about having to jump to get on the bed. In fact, it sits so low I'm not sure that my Roomba can fit underneath the bed anymore. The nailhead trim is made of real brass. There was no chemical smell. We finished setting up the bed at 11:30pm and slept on it immediately afterwards.Love this bed! I feel like I have a grown-up feminine yet classy bed and not a brown wooden/black leather bachelor pad bed that I had before (my husband's choice).
